The Valiant was built on a simple idea: where you live should push you forward. So we made it easy to find your people, easy to feel at home, and easy to invest in yourself. Every month, our team curates programming that brings residents together — over breakfast, on the rooftop, in front of a shared passion. A few signature moments define the year. The rest is there whenever you want it.
Programs, pop-ups, and events rotate throughout the year. The mix evolves with the seasons, finals, football, and feedback from residents. Below is a snapshot of some kinds of experiences you can expect when you live at The Valiant.
- Live Valiantly Video Competition (First program of the year): Our flagship resident contest. Submit a short video showing how you live valiantly — boldly, creatively, authentically — and compete to win up to a full year of free rent.
- Cookie Delivery – Meet The Staff: Move-in week starts with a knock at your door — dessert on us, plus a quick hello from the team who's here to make your year easier.
- Roof-top Parties: Seasonal gatherings on the rooftop deck — music, Bay views, and the whole building in one place.
- Sporting Events: Game-day programming timed to Cal's biggest matchups — pre-parties, watch parties, and tailgates.
- Game Nights: Low-stakes, high-fun. Cards, callers, and prizes from local Berkeley favorites.
- Movie Nights: Screenings in the lounge — resident-picked, popcorn supplied.
- Shoot & Share: Resident photo/video content sessions — show off your space, your style, and your Berkeley moments with help from our team.
- Scent Your Space: A custom-scent workshop. Mix your own candle or room spray to make your apartment feel like yours.

- Local Food Featured Events Pop-up: tastings from Berkeley restaurants and makers we love.

- Grab 'n Go Lunches: Pre-packed lunches you can take to class, the library, or the rooftop on busy days.
- Roof-top Yoga Morning: and sunset flows, open to all levels.
- Matcha & Espresso Pop-Up: Real-deal matcha and espresso bars in the lobby. No line, no $7 coffee.
